Many of my friends wouldn't believe it, but I've been on a couple church boards and know that, for many churches, attendance numbers at Christmas and Easter can make or break their annual budget. That's when they go after the people who attend only twice a year (Reach.) Then they use these services to tempt (yes) infrequent attendees to return more often (Frequency.) Hopefully your website is flexible enough to put the tile on the front page that links to a splash page with the church listings, which would of course link to the churches. What might a package look like? Perhaps levels like . .
A. A listing, then they could add B. Downloadable .pdf with times, directions or invite them for refreshments after the services, then they could add C. A 30-60 second mp3 wherein the clergy person could do some preaching, then they could add D. Video - wherein the pastor can give it all he's got. These guys are preachers; that's what they do for a living. So give them the opportunity. then they could add E. An on-air promo schedule.
Start with those Mega-Churches - the ones with better A/V equipment than any station in town.
-
Churches don't pay income taxes.
-
Mega-Churches ARE NOT POOR.
-
They are in a constant fight for share.
-
Then put some promos on the air pitching the page - not the individual churches. That would be an upgrade.
-
If you're even moderately successful, after the holiday I'd make it an ongoing part of the website.
Another selling point - the change in the Traditional Family. Many churches are reaching out to singles, unmarried couples, etc., etc - you get the idea.
