How the Grinch Stole the Economy
THIS IS SO HOT! And fun. Thanks to Eric Kaelin, GM of WGHN in Grand Haven, MI for sending it in. It's a 1-min, 40-sec mp3 file from the Charles Osgood Report that ran on the CBS Radio Network for years. You'll love it. Should make a great audio for presentations - and a terrific link for your e-mails or website.

What Are You Getting for January?
Huge Giant Tip. Many will be Taking the Week Off or even two. That's good, but might be a luxury of the past. If, however, you're going to work in the next two weeks, do yourself a favor. Today and Monday, call your top billing accounts and/or prospects. Ask if and when they'll be working during the holidays. If they're not in retailing, working the floor - if their job is in an office, these two weeks are an extraordinary opportunity.
It's a great time to get great time with a client. (1) They'll probably have time to visit. (2) Few others will be calling on them. Also, consider, the Post New Years Sales. From what I understand from retailers, we've never seen anything like what will occur starting January 2nd.

Management Opening at Federated in Ft. Wayne
Here’s something you don’t see often; a management gig open at Federated Media. Everybody knows that John Dille is no ordinary CEO (ask any leader in the industry). His example of leadership is duplicated everywhere in the company.
The reason the opening is rare is the success of the entire management team. They get above-average performance, because on one hand they challenge AEs, but when they win - they celebrate the people who actually did it. One example; some companies beat their AEs like a rented mule. Federated's top AE for the year wins a Prius. Know anybody else doing that?
Mark DePrez (also successful & respected) is the GM of WOWO and WMEE in Fort Wayne and has the GSM opening. Send him your stuff at mdeprez@federatedmedia.com.
However, don't bother to write unless there's a spotless record of success.
