HALO Rescue Reunion

Saturday, November 21, 2009

Noon – 4:00p.m.

Welcoming Canine Graduates of

HALO Animal Rescue

Classes 1994 through 2009

For 15 years, HALO Animal Rescue has been connecting homeless animals with loving families.  To celebrate we’re hosting the first ever HALO Rescue Reunion

The festivities will include:

Dog Olympics, Contests, Vendors and lots of fun for our canine alums of HALO and their paw-rents!  It should prove to be a howling good time!

All well-behaved canines are welcome to attend the festivities with their families but you must be fully vaccinated and wearing your collar and leash at all times.  For safety purposes the kitties must stay home that day but your parents are welcome to attend because we love our feline families too!

Updates on Recent Rescues

Honeybun, the Chihuahua who arrived near death with a ruptured Uterus, has gone to her new home in Sedona. Here are pictures of her in her new princess bed and with her new family.  She has two new siblings and has settled in nicely. Click here if you missed her story.

Here's what her new Mom has to say about her:

Honeybun is now with me.  If you could just tell the staff that she rode all the way home on my lap.

I held her in my arms when getting home and there was no way to introduce everyone one at a time.  I made everyone sit and one by one they got a smell.  They have been running all over the house and I think she feels that she has always been here.

I want to thank everyone there who worked so hard to save her life so she can now be a part of ours.

Thanks for letting me adopt her.

-Chere

Autumn, the Lab who had a deformed front leg, is loving life in her new home.  We know we've already shared the joy of her adoption news with you but we've received an ADORABLE photo of her so we wanted to share. You can never get enough warm and fuzzies can you? Click here if  you missed her story.

Velvet, the Shepherd/Lab that came to us with over 10,000 ticks, has had a few rough weeks with regaining her strength and having some breast lumps removed, but she's all smiles now and has really come out of her shell.  She loves snuggles and leans in to your leg when you pet her.  She had a few people who intially said they might adopt her but they've decided the time isn't right for them, so now Ms. Velvet needs you!  If you'd like to meet her, please come to our shelter any day between 11am and 5pm. Click here to see her story.

Liam, the Chihuahua pup who arrived less than 24 hours old and quickly became an orphan, has become quite the celebrity!  Channel 3's Ryan O'Donnell did a story on her at the beginning of this month and that story spread like wildfire and was even featured on CNN, ABC Headline News, Fox 10, ABC 15, WENN as well as many other websites across the United States and even in England!  Here's an updated picture of her at three weeks old.  She has a slight case of "cradle cap" but it is not contagious and will go away as she gets bigger.  Click here if you have yet to see little Liam's story.

We're #37! Thank You!
