On display this month is "Smoke Rings & Damask", new paintings by Adam Allred. Smoke Rings is a departure from Allred's previous works which were more abstract and skewed. A close look at his website will show the step between his older work and Smoke Rings. However, while his technique has clearly become more refined, his wit is just as biting.
Art lovers will appreciate how Allred plays with and manipulates light to tell his story. Pay close attention to the titles and your initial impressions of the pieces may change.
Allred started and finished this collection in a record 6 months, but the influences apparent in his work have undoubtedly taken a lifetime to develop.
Smoke Rings & Damask will be up on display in Tryst Art Gallery through the month of May.
