You’ve heard about beneficial tannins in red wine, but they are also present in the quebracho tree of Argentina and Paraguay. Cyvex now offers Q-Vida™ Quebracho
extract, a natural extract from the core of this tree. Quebracho
bark extract is a potent blend of tannins (polyphenols) that are
strong antioxidants.
Quebracho actually has higher levels of procyanidins than Maritime
Pine bark extract or any grape seed extract on the market. In fact,
the ORAC value of quebracho extract (measure of antioxidant potential)
is almost twice that of Maritime Pine bark extract or any grape seed
extract available.
The chart below compares the ORAC values of the most recent lots of Q-Vida to grape seed extract and to Maritime Pine bark extract.

| AWESOME BROCCOLI SPROUTS |
Did you know broccoli sprouts contain more powerful antioxidants than mature broccoli? In fact, recent research shows that broccoli sprouts contain 20 to 50 times the concentration of the antioxidant sulforaphane than what is found in mature broccoli.
This research spurred Cyvex Nutrition to develop a line of Standardized Broccoli Sprout Powders, which includes:
- BroccoPhane™ Broccoli Sprout Extract standardized for 4000 ppm sulforaphane.
- BroccoSinolate™ standardized for 4% glucosinolates.
- BroccoSinolate Plus™ standardized for 6% glucosinolates and 500 ppm sulforaphane.
- BroccoPlus™ Broccoli Sprout Extract standardized for a combination of 3000 ppm sulforaphane and 6% glucosinolates.
Upon
cooking/crushing, glucosinolates, which are natural, sulfur-containing
compounds found in cruciferous vegetables, release isothiocyanates
(such as sulforaphane). Sulforaphane is a potent stimulator of
detoxifying phase II enzymes in the body. Clinical studies suggest
that sulforaphane increases the activity of phase II enzymes
that inactivate harmful chemicals and increase the body’s
natural defense against joint inflammation. Sulforaphane also
protects against stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori
bacterial.
