Points of interest

Scott's point of interest....Project Rwanda!

Check out Project Rwanda, a pretty ambitious organization, formed around the utilitarian utilization of the bicycle.  What is Project Rwanda?  Well here is a bit of info from there site..

Project Rwanda was founded by Tom Ritchey after he visited Rwanda in 2005, out of his passion for cycling, a love of Rwanda’s natural beauty, and the inspiring stories of hope of the Rwandan people. Tom’s trip resulted in a realization that the bicycle can be an important tool in rebuilding a country, building national pride and addressing local issues facing Rwanda and other African nations.  Project Rwanda is committed to furthering the economic development of Rwanda through initiatives based on the bicycle as a tool and symbol of hope. Our goal is use the bike to help boost the Rwandan economy as well as re-brand Rwanda as a beautiful and safe place to do business and visit freely.

Also be sure to check out Team Rwanda, Rwanda's National Cycling Team!

MS-150 March 27th and 28th!!

The MS 150 will be here before we know it!  Have you signed up yet?  Buy a bike from Global Bikes from now until March 1st and save the $75 registration fee!  If you're not buying a bike but want to save $10 off of the MS150 registration please stop by for a $10 coupon!    Global Bikes will be out both days with our SAG vehicles helping to support the MS-150.  We are also an official packet pick-up location, and have been doing organized training rides for the MS-150 organizers.  We hope to see you out there.  This year cyclists have the option to choose between several routes. The two-day, 150-mile option will remain, and a 35-mile, 50-mile, 75-mile, and one-day century will also be available. It is our hope to attract more youth, more women and more riders of all abilities in order to grow this event to its rightful place among the nation’s most successful Bike MS rides.  Please go to the MS website to learn more or, better yet, to donate to the National MS Society.

Happy Riding!
