Protect your Business
Do You Really Know Who is Working for You??

You might not realize how vulnerable your business could be. Reference Checks, Background Checks and Drug Screens tell you one thing- historical data. These assessments are solid indicators of an employee's past performance and behavioral tendencies, but unfortunately, they do not always protect you in the future.

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners recently published a study that found 80% of employee theft occurs with employees who have no prior history of fraud or a criminal record. What's more, in-house embezzlement seems to rise as the economy worsens.

Don't be a victim; educate yourself. To learn more about what to look for and how to protect your business, visit businessbrief.com.
Latest Job Seeker Trend: Accessorizing
Some are calling it a resume you can wear on your wrist. Others might argue it looks like a bad temporary tattoo. But to some job seekers it's the latest and greatest way to get a job: wearing a yellow bracelet that reads
"I NEED A JOB."

According to the creators of the Lance Armstrong "LiveStrong" look-alikes, it's a creative way for job seekers to network and spread the word they're on the hunt for employment. But how likely is it that these bracelets would compel you to approach job seekers you see wearing them and inquire about their situation? Or maybe even offer an interview? It's not. And is it really THAT bad out there? The answer is NO.

Instead think about getting re-acquainted with former colleagues. Or start a conversation with a stranger in the grocery store. Have you ever heard the term "six degrees of separation"? You never know where the next opportunity will come from. Be practical and proactive- but don't bring negative attention to yourself. If you feel the need to accessorize, try wearing a watch!
