This tiny device is injected under your pet's skin just like a vaccine. It contains a code number that is unique to your pet. The microchip company keeps your name, address and phone number(s) in their database. If your pet is lost and is scanned at any shelter or veterinary hospital they will be able to contact you and reunite you with your pet. It is also critical in assisting hospitals with making treatment plans in the event that your pet is injured. The annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration honors the Hispanic community's many contributions to the City of Chandler. The festival also features the popular Chihuahua Races and the crowning of the King and Queen Chihuahua. In addition to the popular Chihuahua Races, the event will have two stages of entertainment, the Día de los Niños Health Fair, food vendors, and kids activities.

• RACE SCHEDULE:
• · Registration begins at 11 a.m. (open to the first 150 purebred Chihuahuas)
  · Races begin at 2 p.m.
• KING & QUEEN CORONATION:
  · King & Queen Chihuahua winners will get a medal and a special coronation cape
  · Chihuahuas will be judged based on the following: Best Dressed, Best Temperament     and Most Fashionable
  · Coronation will begin at 4 p.m. or immediately following the Chihuahua races

This year's event will also feature  "THE CHIHUAHUA STORE", which will offer Chihuahua tee shirts, bumper stickers, Doggles, and other Chihuahua themed items for sale. There will also be information on HALO and spay/neuter. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SALES WILL BENEFIT HALO RESCUE OF PHOENIX.

This event draws hundreds of Chihuahuas and their people, and it is always a lot of fun!!! There will be a photographer on site to take photos which show the specialness of Chihuahuas and their people. These photos may be used in a video for HALO for wide distribution which will not only show this fun event, but also portray the problem of homeless Chihuahuas here and everywhere.
