Don't miss the Valley's premier wine auction – register today!

If you're a wine connoisseur or just love a great time with fabulous food and fun, you don't want to miss our Off the Vine Vintage Wine Auction on Friday, Oct. 11 at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa. This is your chance to procure a rare, reserve wine from discerning collectors and vintners who open their private cellars for this special evening.

This year, some of the Valley's top wine and food purveyors are lending their creative talents to Off the Vine. The event committee includes an all-star line-up: Amy Binkley of Binkley's Restaurant, Bink's Midtown and Café Bink; Brent Karlicek of Upward Projects (Postino Winecafe, Windsor, Federal Pizza); Dale Sparks of Quench Fine Wines and 220 Imports; Liz Delgado of Quench Fine Wines; Mark Tarbell of Tarbell's Restaurant, and Melinda Petznick of Stage Stop Vineyards. Dan Santy, Jock Wulffson, and Stephanie Grant also are taking lead roles procuring rare and reserve wines and other unique auction items for this special evening.

A sampling of items on the auction block include a bottle of 2010 Screaming Eagle, considered the "most sought after California cult wine in the world," and great experiences such as a trip to the 2013 Napa Valley Film Festival. All proceeds benefit Hospice of the Valley. Join our Facebook event page for updates on fine wine selections and exciting experiences up for bid. Space is limited. Hospice – Is it time yet?
By Kathy Melamed

I had a beloved friend who died two years after receiving a cancer diagnosis. Marie was a determined, busy woman with places to go and things to do. She did not talk much about her disease. She brushed aside comments from friends and others about her strength and courage as she “waged her battle.” She preferred not to think of it in terms of “fighting” or “winning or losing.” Instead, she reminded us that life “is what it is.” She had seen and endured suffering. She treasured life and hope, and she defined what that meant to her. Read more.
